OPEN CALL

TO SUBMIT TO DIMENSIONS VOLUME 38


2024 Taubman College architecture graduates are encouraged to submit their Wallenberg, Thesis, or MS Capstone projects for consideration for inclusion in Dimensions, volume 38, scheduled for publication in spring 2025.




Submission requirements and deadlines for the open call are listed below. All deadlines are at 11:00 PM (EST) on the dates shown.


IMPORTANT DATES - DEADLINES EXTENDED!


    • October 06 – Deadline for receipt of PDF Submission
    • October 08 – Confirmation of receipt of PDF Submission
    • October 21 – Notification of Selection Decisions
    • November 04 – Deadline for receipt of native files from accepted contributors



SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS


Please read carefully to the bottom of this page.

Submitters are encouraged to work from an existing portfolio format that best presents their project, rather than reformatting it to another size specifically for the open call. Submissions should include both descriptive text and visual imagery of the project. The submissions must remain anonymous, and any student/critic/advisor names must not appear anywhere on the submission PDF.

To best represent your project, please provide the most relevant documentation in a PDF of any desired size, format, or number of pages. Balance the size of your file with the quality of the imagery and test your PDF on another device before submitting. Keep in mind that this PDF will not be the final layout published in the journal and additional materials along with native, hi-quality files will be requested upon acceptance.


FILE SUBMITTAL


All submissions are to be submitted through a Dropbox portal. (link at bottom of page). 

Use the following naming convention to submit your contribution, using your uniqname:

Thesis: “D38_Thesis_Uniqname.pdf”
Wallenberg: “D38_Wallenberg_Uniqname.pdf”
Master of Science: “D38_MS_Uniqname.pdf”

All submissions must also include a separate file with information that includes only your full name and a preferred email address. This should be a plain text (.txt) file named “D38_uniqname.txt”

Contributors must combine both files into a single zip archive file to minimize confusion with multiple downloads. Name the archive “D38_uniqname.zip”

(If there are any issues and you need to resubmit a second upload, name it “D38_uniqname_02.zip”
A confirmation email will be sent upon successfully unzipping and opening the files to confirm receipt.

Your submission will be used as a basis for the Dimensions staff to select projects for inclusion in volume 38. Files will be anonymously renamed before review by a Dimensions student selection committee.

Given the size of the actual files used for design and production, all accepted contributors should be prepared to submit native content material (image links, text) no later than November 5, 2024. Submission guidelines will be supplied to accepted contributors with the acceptance notice. Contributors whose final content submissions do not conform to the submissions requirements may be excluded from the final publication.
