Prior to Dimensions the college published Dimension (1956-67) and its early incarnation as “Student Publication” (1955). These titles are also posted to the Dimensions stack on ISSUU where there are now more than 50 titles combined. You can learn more about Dimension from the Dimensions: Reflection event held in 2012 as part of the release of Dimensions 25.
Native digital files have been produced and made available since 2003, however earlier titles had to be scanned and reassembed. The Dimensions Archive was made possible due to the efforts of a number of Taubman College students working under faculty advisor Christian Unverzagt: Suzanne Robinson, class of '05 scanned several volumes of Dimension while Karen Henderson, M.Arch '12 scanned several early titles of Dimensions while helping to standardize the technical procedures. Graduate architecture student Christopher Reznich, B.S. '12 scanned the majority of the Dimensions titles in Fall 2012 and undergraduate student Jeremy Luebker scanned the balance of Dimension and Student Publication titles in Winter 2013.
Former chair John McMorrough provided financial support for the archive project in 2012 and 2013. A very special thanks was due to Fred Stephenson, B.Arch '58, an editor for Dimension in 1958 who first sparked the idea for this initiative in 2004 by generously sending a box of his own early copies of Dimension to the College in hopes they would find a new use.
